In a WoW private server, you can play online with people over the world, just like the official one, only that they are free, and usually have high rates. Get the WoW client to work

First, download the WoW client in one of these links:

If the server you want to play is not with Burning Crusade, skip this step.
Download and install the Burning Crusade expansion. Get it from here:

• Legion of the Dragonborn

• Stormrager Productions

After that, you need to patch until the version the server you want to play is. For example, if the server you want to play is version 2.0.10, you need to patch up to that version.

Finally, open the file: realmlist.wtf, in your client folder, and it should say something like this:

set realmlist worldofwarcraft.logon.us

Simply change the adress (worldofwarcraft.logon.us) by the address the private server provides you (Yes, it has to provide you one so you can connect).

Now run WoW.exe, and if everything goes right, then you will be able to play in the private server, for free!
